Palau Macaya
An incredible and pretty unknown building from 1902 that was designed by Puig i Cadafalch and commissioned by Romà Macaya, a wealthy man from Barcelona who was in the cotton trading business.
It contains a lot of similarities with another great building from the same architect: Casa Amatller:
- similar window shapes
- similar decoration patterns
- similar materials used
Today the building belongs to a private foundation, however the interior of the building is open and, once a month, it is possible to visit with a private tour organized by the same private foundation. https://obrasociallacaixa.org/en/centros/palau-macaya/programacion/que-hacemos
