Gigantic Cat in the middle of the Gothic Quarter
Walking around Barcelona can provide some interesting surprises.
In the middle of the Raval, close to Las Ramblas, you can find an enormous sculpture made by Fernando Botero, the Colombian artist.
This piece of art was originally bought by the Barcelona city council in 1987, but it was not placed in this area of the city till 2003. The cat was placed in different areas in Barcelona for 15 years till he found its place.
Is not the only sculpture from Botero. There is also a big horse with the typical look and feel of the south American sculptor in the airport terminal 2.
